When we were asked to work on the Alexandra Ivarsdottir and Gylfi Sigurdsson wedding in Lake Como we just knew it would be an absolutely incredible weekend. We worked extremely closely with them from sourcing the perfect venue in Lake Como to arranging all suppliers, logistics and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Alex and Gylfi knew they wanted a Lake Como wedding and so we set about sourcing the perfect venue for them. This was the historical and stunning Villa Balbiano. The nature of the villa and the grounds means they were able to stay during their wedding weekend with their friends and family. For the pre-wedding party, we decided to go with a traditional Italian theme with a long rustic table, lots of fairy lights and all the pizza, pasta, salad and gelato you could wish for. Along with some gorgeous Italian cocktails too!
The next day was the day of the wedding and this was a culmination of 5 days of setup with a gorgeous marquee next to the swimming pool for the wedding breakfast and evening reception and a gorgeous ceremony setup in front of Villa Balbiano and with gorgeous Lake Como as the backdrop. Everything ran perfectly and all the guests loved the incredible set-up and the most amazing white flowers provided by Verdure Floral Design which decorated the ceremony space, the marquee and the interiors of the house. The evening finished with a gorgeous firework display and then an after-party in the villa.
